Winter Time Fun!

Winter Time Fun!

Last week we did a lot of different activities! It makes me so happy to see the kids having fun!

To start off our week we decided to make some snow paint. We mixed shaving cream and glue together and had our friends paint on a snowflake! While they were painting their teacher read a book about snow to them!

We decided to take the box from our new table (the table is amazing and I love it!) and let the children go to town on it. They did such a good taking turns with the crayons and making pictures! Even one of the teachers joined in on the fun! Not everyday you get to color on cardboard!

Look at this group! Coloring away!

 Bubble Wrap!!

We all love to pop bubble wrap! It helps reduce stress at the end of the day. We taped the bubble wrap to the floor and just let the kids do what they wanted. You guessed it! Our friends had it pulled up off in the floor in no time! They still loved to play with it. Even some of our other friends took some bubble wrap and played with it around the gym.

First we stated touching it with our hands to get a feeling and it didn't take long till we started stomping all over it!

The look on his face says it all!

We took a chance and gave our friends play-doh!

Homemade play-doh is the was to go! We took corn starch, salt, oil, cream of tarter, water, and glitter (I know we really went all out!). Some of our friends wanted it in their mouths more than in their hands but they all still had fun with this.

We went to some of our toys and got materials that we thought the kids could use with the play-doh. They did such a great job with this! I am thinking of making some with all different colors and maybe even adding some smells...

These pictures show so much thought going into what they are doing!

Snow Fun!

Snow Fun!

Our friends were kind of sad we didn't get a snow day. We decided that it was too cold to play out in the snow so we would bring the snow in!

First we just let the children get use to the snow. One child touched the snow and said "Hot". The teacher told hi it wasn't hot and our friend said "Cold". That's right! snow is cold!

Our friends were given paint brushes and measuring cup to play with in the snow!

 Look at them go!

What does snow taste like? This friend wanted to know and couldn't wait to find out!

This is when we started to get WILD! Sometimes you just have to let them loose and have some fun!

Even our teachers got in on the fun (Because why not?)!

We really enjoyed our "Snow Day!"

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a wonderful break! I know I enjoyed it very much! This year I am going to try and post more on this blog! I hope everyone is enjoying this!

Our first day back from break we decided that it was a good idea to get some of the wiggles out! Man did they get the wiggles out! These kids loved playing with the parachute!

Our other ones friends and the twos friends even came out and played with us!

As you can see going under the parachute was the best part!

Look how high it is!

All of our friends loved this so much! Looks like we are going to have to do this again... soon!

I did not get any pictures but our friends even loved being on top of the parachute and we pulled them down the gym.

Christmas Tree Sensory Bin!

Christmas Tree Sensory Bin!

Last week we looked at Christmas Trees! We talked about what they mean and why we put them up in our homes.

I decided it would be a good time to bring in parts of a Christmas Tree! They could not get enough of it!

I had tree branches from a pine tree, scented pine cones, ornaments, and a shaker filled with bells.

Starting in on the fun!

Our friends would look at the items in the bin and were unsure of what was in there. It did not take long for our friends to dig right in!

My friends started to smell the objects!

The pine cones smelled like cinnamon and the branches smelled like pine.

One friend decided to smell the ornament and see what it smelled like. Unfortunately it did not have a smell...

Looking at the shiny ornaments! They are shatterproof and are hard to break.

 Someone is having fun!

They Discovered the Bells!!

A friend shaking the bells!

Every day my friends love getting into this sensory bin. The great smells, colors, and textures make for a fun time! I will be keeping this in my room through Christmas. They enjoy it so much I cant seem to take it away!
