January 17-20, 2017

January 17 - 20, 2017

We took a break from themes. The children have been enjoying some fun activities with out a theme. (We will get back to a theme shortly.) Last week was a short week because we were of for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but we still had a fun filled week!

We cut out a hear from construction paper and placed the heart on contact paper. The children were given tissue paper to place on the contact paper. Some kids did one piece at a time and others did a handful! They turned out great! They are one the window in our classroom!

We got a new friend on Wednesday! I think we did a good job of showing him how to have a good time in our room!

We put the Sweetheart candies in a jar with paint and some paper, gave the kids the jar and had them shake it up! Some friends did a great job shaking with their hands and other friends had a good time dropping it on the floor a few times.

 Shake, Shake, Shake!

Slime!

On Thursday your child had a bagging in their cubbie with some white stuff in it... You might have wonder ed what it was. It was homemade slime! We all took turns adding ingredients and mixing it together. The teachers were not brave enough to give them all the slime so we placed them in baggies so there would not be a big mess and we let them take it home!

To make the slime we took some glue, liquid starch, water and for some fun we added glitter! With its all mixed together it makes slime.

The bottle was a little hard for some friends to squeeze so a teacher had to help.

This friend had a hard time squeezing the bottle so the teacher did it for her. The look on her face says it all. She was amazed watching the glue!

Time to mix it all up!

The concentration my friends at with this is great!

Below are some pictures of our friends playing with the slime!

I would say they enjoyed it!

We wanted to give the kids a special message!

On a white piece of paper we wrote with a white crayon what our message was. We then gave our friends Bingo markers.

What does our message say?

Our friend is thinking... Hmmm...

You guessed it!! Our message says
"Jesus Loves ME!"

Sorry if your little ones came home with different colored hands! They really love the bingo markers!

Winter Time Fun!

Winter Time Fun!

Last week we did a lot of different activities! It makes me so happy to see the kids having fun!

To start off our week we decided to make some snow paint. We mixed shaving cream and glue together and had our friends paint on a snowflake! While they were painting their teacher read a book about snow to them!

We decided to take the box from our new table (the table is amazing and I love it!) and let the children go to town on it. They did such a good taking turns with the crayons and making pictures! Even one of the teachers joined in on the fun! Not everyday you get to color on cardboard!

Look at this group! Coloring away!

 Bubble Wrap!!

We all love to pop bubble wrap! It helps reduce stress at the end of the day. We taped the bubble wrap to the floor and just let the kids do what they wanted. You guessed it! Our friends had it pulled up off in the floor in no time! They still loved to play with it. Even some of our other friends took some bubble wrap and played with it around the gym.

First we stated touching it with our hands to get a feeling and it didn't take long till we started stomping all over it!

The look on his face says it all!

We took a chance and gave our friends play-doh!

Homemade play-doh is the was to go! We took corn starch, salt, oil, cream of tarter, water, and glitter (I know we really went all out!). Some of our friends wanted it in their mouths more than in their hands but they all still had fun with this.

We went to some of our toys and got materials that we thought the kids could use with the play-doh. They did such a great job with this! I am thinking of making some with all different colors and maybe even adding some smells...

These pictures show so much thought going into what they are doing!
