Nativity Scene

Today we explored with a nativity scene, straw, frankincense and myrrh. The kids loved it! Some really enjoyed paying with the people and animals and others couldn’t get enough of the straw. The pictures below say it all!

This is the before picture. All nice and neat!

This friend is looking at the manger. Where is baby Jesus?

She was so happy to find Mary! She would not let go of Mary and found some shepherds to join her!

Some friends went in slow and other with in full force!

He went right for the people and animals and play with them the whole time! He was so engaged!

She has one of the Wise Men. She wasn’t sure at first but when she got in she has a blast!

And it’s not fun if we don’t make a mess! These girls loved putting the straw on their friends head! He was a good sport about it!

Just look at the smile! He was shaking the straw off (and of course the girls added more!)

The mess at the end! I am happy I can let these kids make big messes and have fun doing it! How else are they going to explore?!

These pictures don’t do justice to how much fun they had!

To all my families, I wanted to say thank you for trusting me with your kids everyday! I am truely blessed to have you and them in my life.

Have a Merry Christmas and I can’t wait to come back in the new year!

Pumpkin carving fun!

Our friends got to help carve a pumpkin! Some really enjoyed feeling the pumpkin inside and out. After carving the kids got to play with the seeds and insides.

Fall is here!

The last 2 weeks we talked about fall and leaves! We did a lot of activities and below are some pictures of a few things we did!

We started off collecting leaves, sticks, and acorns from around school. We used our collection of stuff throughout the weeks.

This friend is exploring our collection and holding a pine cone!

We loved to count the acorns! 1...2... 3... How many can you hold?

Who said you need paint brushes to make art?
 We used sticks!

We even used acorns to paint! Place in a box with some paint and paper and shake the box!

When you find a big stick what  are we suppose to do with it? We paint it of course! This stick will be hanging up in our classroom all year long!

We don’t just paint. We  played with leaves and play dough! Making leaf prints in the dough was fascinating!

We painted leaves that were the size of our heads! We used pink, purple, and blue so the colors showed up well.

Working Fine Motor Skills!

Our friends are stringing pasta on pipe cleaners.

Some friends enjoyed poking the pasta into the play-doh.
